Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Unveils Teaser Visual and 2023 Debuts

Netflix unveiled a teaser visual for the second season of Record of Ragnarok anime, based on Ajichika, Shinya Umemura, and Takumi Fukui’s manga of the same name. The teaser visual shows Buddha, Zerofuku, Shiva, Raiden Tameemon, Heracles, Jack the Ripper, and the valkyrie Brynhild, hinting that the second season will feature the three bouts between these six characters.

The staff for the second season of the anime will be announced at Anime Expo, though it is presumed the staff for the previous season will also be working on it, including director Masao Okubo, series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, storyboard artist Masao Okubo, episode director Takushi Shikatani, music by Yasuharu Takanashi, character design by Masaki Sato, art director Shinobu Yamaguchi, 3D animation director Yosuke Kikuchi, sound director Yasunori Ebina, and director of photography Yukihiro Masumoto.

The cast for the anime has also yet to be announced, but presumably, Miyuki Sawashiro will reprise her role as Brynhild, with Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shiva.

Record of Ragnarok is an ongoing manga series by Ajichika, Shinya Umemura, and Takumi Fukui, published on Monthly Comic Zenon since 2017 and licensed by Viz Media. The manga is currently at 14 volumes in Japan. The series also has a spin-off titled “Ryo Fu Hō Sen Hishōden” which focuses on the “flying general” Lu Bu.

Record of Ragnarok was adapted into an anime on June 17, 2021, by Netflix, with its first season running for 12 episodes.
