Have been a fan of HIGH CARD since the first anime. Perhaps, it'll be better with time but right now, it's rather basic.
Personally have been facing a couple of bugs. 1. where it kicks me out with an error code every time I open the app, and 2. sometimes puzzles glitches and u can't complete it even if u meet the requirements for clearing the level.
Haven't tried anymore since the event started tho, was around 70ish puzzles? Even so, will probably only open it for when my fave characters get cards, can't be sure I will but yeah, it's just kinda disappointing rn.
though it's pretty to look at, the ui is not nighttime friendly. it got overwhelming for me most of the time. fonts are hard to read bcs they run quite small. as a non-native speaker relying on on-screen translator, it is confusing to navigate. art looks nice, characters seemed interesting, there's no loop or auto feature. i usually follow games i wanna play and found interesting during promotional/introduction period leading up to release, but i didn't for this, perhaps i knew from the get-go but wanted to try it at least. tower defense is interesting hahah. a pass for me but i understand why ppl may enjoy the game for different reasons c:
LOGIN SOLUTIONS:
1. Can't login (Personal experience, error code 6): If you have very weak internet, you might struggle logging in at all, potentially it would not work - This happened to me at the end of a month and I couldn't login despite many attempt trying to solve it. I just had to wait until I got good internet again.
1.1 Other logging in issues not related to weak internet have other potential solutions and have been shared by others before like changing your phone's language, using a VPN, clearing cache, restarting the app or deleting and reinstalling the game. Hope it all works.
2. To claim daily and weekly free quartz from the shop, I use a VPN before going into the game/the shop screen. It works for me everytime.
3. CS is very responsive so I recommend any bugs, feedbacks or suggestions you may have, you could direct it to them through the right channels that they've set (see in-game). They really do listen and have listened to changes that would improve our experience like the AP limit changing from 5 to 10 AP.

REVIEW:
I'm not good at reviewing things, I feel like I tend to ramble and can't make a concise point but I really wanted to review this game properly-ish because I love it so much. I'm not gonna cover everything tho.
RanuSte, while it takes a lot of inspirations of its system and UI and a lot of its inner workings from other familiar Joseimukes, there's something unique about its experience.
For one, I really like that it just exudes chill. The aesthetics and vibes are my personal taste, I love a good sci-fi, world building. I love having royalty and a little bit of magic✨
It is also clear that it respects your time. So if you're looking for something more grindy, this probably isn't the game for you. Unless, you know, if you oshi someone and want to get real high numbers, it can get real grindy. Event SR cards are easy to get, earliest is between 10 mins to an hour.
There are no rankings. The ultimate goal of an event for the 12-day event window (other than the event card, of course) is getting a lot of points to clear the event shop and to get an S score on an evaluation pot thing (where you submit event recipes to also get rewards from that pot)
The BGM for this game is insane. It is breathtaking. At this point in time, they've started uploading on YouTube again, their recent video is their latest event BGM, with a promise to upload their previous event BGMs down the line. I think they did really well with music in the game. My personal favorite is the garden/cultivation area's (where u get flowers, plants for alchemy) BGM. It's so cute
GACHA tends to be different for everyone. Early game you get a lot of quartz and tickets from a variety of things. A solo pull is 30 quartz, a multi is 300 quartz. To spark, you need 6,000 quartz which if you started saving early game like I did took roughly 3-4 months. That is with a lot of resources still though.
You can also pull with tickets, between 1-10 pulls. Ticket 'multis' don't guarantee an SR because they're technically solo pulls, but you could get lucky.
I've decided to keep to one (always pull) and a half oshi (depending on the card/situation) so I had saved all of my quartz since release. When it came time to pull, I actually had to spark (200). I was unlucky, but I've seen others with better luck.
I'm not a seiyuu fan type, so I don't care much abt the game not being full voice but I understand why ppl turn away from it. I think with the voice situation, we can really just try to support the game as far as we can and see where it takes us. Hopefully, game gets a lot of love in the future that it might just happen! I do also think the translation ban has pushed ppl away from starting and potentially translating, so it's not easy to come by translators at all. I think it's fine if you can be discreet abt it but that's just me.
Anyways, couldn't think of how to expand the other stuff so I'd say check out the other reviews here or try out the game for yourself, you won't lose anything either way.
