Silver and Blood | Global

Okay. I've been waiting for this game for quite a while.
And to be honest, I WANT to like this game. I really do.
I'm a sucker for gothic, sexy vampire stories, and Silver & Blood delivered, only to be marred by bad game optimization.

Pros:

- Incredible art & story style that truly embodies old-style vampiric story-telling reminiscent of the Castlevania-esque grit.
Even just going into character menus give you this amazing feel of mystical awe on almost every character.
Moontoon understood this genre well. 5/5

- Quite generous early-game (!) rewards. I'm not going to say very, because I saw a caveat; I'll explain later.

- A great character interaction system; each one feels very personal when you give them gifts, or engage in discussions in certain game modes.

- Decent QoL systems.
The upgrade system is very similar to Figure Fantasy, ironically, which, will become a Con below.

- The MUSIC. THE MUSIC. 'NUFF SAID.

Cons:

- EXTREMELY unoptimized.
The game limited my device to 'Medium', and it was still not enough; I keep getting crashes now and then; it seems to trigger everytime I switch from Event Story to Campaign Story.

In fact, the instance dungeon that gives skill mats uses a tower-defense style, FLOODING your screen with creeps. A 4gb device won't survive this.
Now, I understand this game is aimed for higher-spec devices, but I'll be honest:

- GAMEPLAY MODELS SUCK. GRAPHICS SUCK.
I mean it.
Again, it might be my device, but considering the graphics, I find this unbelievable.
I played Ceres M on this device at the HIGHEST SETTING possible, and a 10-year old game outshines Silver & Blood- oh, I hear you: 'But, Elli, your device suck; and Ceres M isn't exactly-'

I played King's Raid on this device AT HIGHEST SETTING possible.
I played Outerplane on thi- you get my point.

The Ults cutscenes are great, ofc, but let's be real: these Ult animations are mp4 inserts.
Almost every gacha does this.
Which, is funny because I'm fairly certain Ceres M, King's Raid, and Outerplane uses GAME RESOURCES for the ult cutscene animations.

To test my theory, I played this on my friends' Infinix tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip & 8gb Ram.
And I was right; even a high-end device STRUGGLED.

- Store Pricing is... weird.
Most Gachas offer a 10-pull on your first dollar purchase.
Their equivalent? 2 regular pulls, 300 Rubies, 10000 coins. Wut.
Kinda high-priced, even on their 10-pull offerings.

The gacha system & upgrading (!), as I mentioned, is mirroring F.Fantasy; only the SSRs will reach the highest state possible.
That's bad. Empousa, the female lead, has no SSR equivalent; and Noah's SSR equivalent is hard to get someho- AHHHHH. That's where it clicked.
Clever of Moontoon. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

- Game code distribution is... hot garbage, TBH.
I hate it when companies do regional codes, even if the rewards are the same; AND MOST DON'T EVEN WORK.

I genuinely liked this game, and may continue to play if the optimization improves.
But, as a reviewer, I urge caution.
I've been reading some bad stuff about Moontoon as a game dev, too, but I have no proper context to provide opinion on this.

The story telling along with the illustrations alone, somehow, is keeping me hooked.
I'm going delulu AAAEEIIIII~~ XD

Grand Crown: Pandora's Fate

...it's the Tales of Erin rebrand Girls Connect rebranded.
Quoo version seems uncensored; Playstore version looks atrocious in the censorship; and original's not even really that risque.NSFW; it's just regular art.

I was expecting a totally different game.

If you missed this game, go for it.
I'm out; the atrocious devs of the Girls Connect version gave me PTSD. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Edit: The pre-registration rewards is the exact 1:1 reward you get on the old version.
Bonaire and Arabel.
Hilarious. ๐Ÿคฃ

Figure Fantasy | English

Okay. Time to write this.

During the early days of FF, they did what other gacha games did in terms of advertising:
Sh*tty, cr*ppy ads, borderline fake.

I wrote a review castigating this.
Guess what: They listened.
Komoe listened. Stopped doing it; and even did some great adverts afterwards.
And TBH? They were doing what E7/Outerplane/GB2: Exilium etc. did.

Community engagement, promos, promotions, PR updates, etc.
This was 3~4 years ago. They came out a few months after E7 did.
They had great collabs, great engagement, you feel good collecting figurines.
They even had giveaways. Contests. Etc.

Then it slowly died.
The review below is applicable only to the company that took over Komoe, Flow Game.
This is to show the state of the game, & how players may find it now rather than before:

===========================

Pros

- Great early game support.
You get more than what the early-game presents you; access to various important QoL stages via breaking min. BP requirements to grant access to important areas like gear manufacturing, resource, etc.

You also get access to specific meta units that will aid you until Ch. 30

- Great graphics
I really like the figurine aesthetics. It does give you the feel of the figurine world.
And I simp for Yu Xia, just because she reminds me of my teen years.
I just wish I was as hot as her. XDDDD

But, yea, some figurines have transformations; Astaroth turns into a dragon SUGEEEEEE~

- A rather balanced meta, with the exception of the last units featured like Cinderella, Shione, Grantina, etc.
Not having these units won't affect average gameplay, but if you do get them, you'll see the masaive power gap.

Cons

- A stagnant game.
Borderline dead. We had 2 consecutive mergers in just 2 weeks; & I had to climb up the ladder again slowly while hiding my real teams.

My friends are gone. Only one responds to me, Mystic Bailey.
My fave, Saccharine, is gone...

- Zero support.
I mean it. Discord dead; event timer bug remains unfixed & manifested since the take-over by Flow Game.
Don't expect support/response if you CC them.

- High priced cash items.
Not as much, but it's been ridiculous.
The obv. psychological gymnastics when it comes to prices are ever-present on this one.

- Nerfed gacha rates
I remember pulling at least 1 gold pull per 3 Fuli 10-pull; now it takes 60~80 pulls, it's ridiculous.
Banner pulls now take 30; before, it's 20.

- Almost dead community.
Events keeps getting recycled; prev. skins now have an 'upgraded' version, but getting them is BS-levels of hard.
The good news is that event currencies carry over to the next one, which deserves praise.

I love this game.
I'm staying until the bitter end.
But... I can no longer endorse this game.

Flow Game, you took over not because you love this ancient gacha.
You're squeezing it dry.

It hurts me as an artist.
Edit: I had so much more to write, but just thinking of this game dying soon sapped the motivation out of me. I apologise.

...if Smilegate claims Epic Seven is 'The Playable Animรฉ';
I can say the Devs of this game can claim this game 'The Playable Webtoon.'

Pros:

- Game operates in an idle motiff similar to games like Elora's Raid/League of Pantheons, except in 3D 1:1 character model ratio zOmg and a very clever Webtoon-style story-telling.
Too bad I can't read Chinese, because even tho I can't understand the words, I can follow the story, AND IT'S HILARIOUS ๐Ÿ˜‚

The f*cking Demon Lord runs away like a wuss ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿคฃ
And that hilarious race zOmg I can't XDDDDD
It's a reaaaaally cute & funny story X3

- Great music. Great BGM. It knows how to carry itself during gameplay, and it knows it can't take it's own story seriously, but I'm genuinely surprised that some of the Chapter music is an actual song, it's cute ๐Ÿ’›

- I've seen a review claiming AI art, but I disagree.
Some of the character art does look like it had AI-assisted elements, but it's clear it only used AI elements (character sketch build) to create the final product. IMO, this is fine; as long as it's not full AI. In fact, it looked base-vector to me, which has been present since 2005.

The Webtoon-style story itself is hand-drawn, to the point I suspect THIS IS AN ADAPTATION.
If anyone can confirm this to me, I'd be grateful.

But, no. This game has been illustrated with clear love in it.
Character designs looks heavily-inspired by MiHoyo tho, to the point one can claim it's a rip-off, especially some of the UI-elements.
Overall, really good. ๐Ÿ‘

- Great stability overall; it has lag come Ch. 7, but very stable & impressive.
Took at least 3 hours before I felt heat on my tab.
Not on Mirren's level, but very impressive, considering the graphics ๐Ÿ‘

Cons

- STINGY. AS. F*CK.
Well, not really, but your initial SSR (excluding the 'boss girl' of the main cast, which is our primary SSR unit) revolves on what, like, only 4~5 SSR units that seems to rotate when you do your first pull. And 3 of them are 'healers' (quotation marks, because I never saw them heal, only AoEs, except 'boss girl'), the other two are Defenders.

And the pity system is locked. Will take you [EDIT: 100! Just confirmed, sorry!] pulls; F2Ps will definitely have a hard time thriving in terms of SSR units, but the SRs & R units are actually very viable for use.

Edit:Unit combos are present, making even R units very good early-game.
Bunny girl just LOOVES to drop exploding bunnies, I suspect she's Usada Pekora's distant relative. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

In fact, very few SSRs are viable early-game, but to my own experience on idle games, the SSRs are end-game, except on this game, they all feel like they require... something, to work properly.

- Gear system/level system are region/level-locked.
I figured a bypass in terms of levelling (keep one character slot not powered-up to spam auto-stage farm; if you don't, you'll be stuck at a certain level), which keeps you from conserving resources, which is a must in every Raising-Sims type of idle games.

Took me 4 days just to figure out the bypasses.
As F2P, you DEFINITELY need to learn the bypasses.

- Some units you get are PFP-locked for some reason, even tho you have the unit.
Really weird. Haven't figured out how to unlock it yet; and you're stuck with the SRs & main cast characters.

I really can't be fully critical of game mechanics because I'm handicapped by the language-barrier, but the basics can be followed thru without undestanding the language.

A Global Release might not be possible due to the Webtoon-visuals of the game, plus I feel like a lot of slang is present in the game story due to the sheer hilarity of it. ๐Ÿคฃ

It's very cute. Clearly, if a Global Release is made, I might actually whale.
That's how impressed (AND FRUSTRATED! DX) I am on this one.

Play it, if just for the Webtoon element.
But, as I said, there are region/level locks present, so you'll need to be very patient.
But, for me? 8.โต/10. ๐Ÿ‘

Enigma of Sรฉpia

Enigma of Sรฉpia

1.8

...a complete mess of what could've been a great satirical genderbend gacha game.
I'll say this directly as someone who spent a few bucks ($15 + tax conversion):
A P2W moneysink.

I have a gut feeling this game won't last long unless the devs act and fix it quickly.
As a warning: Most F2P players already quit. Read below as to why.

Pros

- One of the few games where seemingly useless 'R' units can grow AND compete with higher-rated units simply by being patient & invest.
I'm probably the only player in S1 that has a SSR (almost SSR+!) Lyra that's on top 20 on 'Zenith' class.

I've always liked that; Epic Seven also boasts this game mechanic.

- Reasonable pricing on skins; most gachas of this kind of game asks for $40; they ask for $10 & below; with the premiums at $20. Still a complete scummy affair, but at least, they're trying.

- Very low storage/spec requirement.

- Generous early-game resources, but I suspect it's bait.

Cons
(PREPARE FOR RAGE)

- STUPID. SERVER. INSTABILITY. KEEPS GETTING DISCONNECTED EVERY 3~5 MINS, EVEN LESS.
- A COMPLETE STABILITY NIGHTMARE; LAGGY AS HELL.
- POP UPS AFTER EVERY. RECONNECTION. EVER. EVEN THE ONES YOU PURCHASED KEEPS POPPING UP.
- SUDDEN GAME DIFFICULTY SPIKE (as in, sudden; punches you in the gut) AFTER STAGE 200 ON CAMPAIGN; THIRD STAGE ON OTHER GAME MODES; AND THE THIRD DAY OF SERVERSIDE EVENTS. WHAT. THE. F*VK.
This is where most F2P players bailed. Even moderate cashers (me included, but as for me, I was testing the growth mechanics of R units) have a real hard time.
- GAMEPLAY GETS PROGRESSIVELY LAGGY THE LONGER YOU STAY.
- Game progression requirements, mostly, are heavily paywalled. Even when spending money to the point I can compare this to Diablo Immortal or any EA Games.
- Copyright infringement nightmare; most are blatant.
Ironically, Lyra (Deku) & Cheshire (Killua) are the only ones I can say, is not blatant. Obvious, but not blatant. The general requirement of satire.
- Bad voice acting
- Bad background music
- New bugs popping up after every 'fix' they implemented, if they even did. Scientia (Dr. Stone) floats on Guild Boss randomly it's kinda funny.
- TOO. MUCH. CONTENT. FOR A GAME THAT OPENED JUST 10 DAYS AGO. WHAT.
- FORCED. TUTORIALS. TO THE POINT IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU OPTIONS FOR PREPARATION ON NEW CONTENT; THEY THROW YOU IN IT, IMMEDIATELY.
- INEXISTENT STORY.

The artworks aren't so bad, but some are, notably the Goku (forgot in-game name) & Little Kasi (? eh?) (Naruto). But Lyra (Deku) & Cheshire (Killua), while suggestive, have class and style, which is funny, because THEY'RE STARTING UNITS. I like Celestia (Kirito) & Royalle (FMA; the guy who snaps fingers to trasmute fire? Was that Roy?)'s artwork; but the rest are... ehhh.

The 3D counterparts aren't so bad either, but oh god, Cheshire is DEFINITELY the hottest one in terms of looks, both live2D and 3D, and I'm saying this as a girl; TOO. HAWT.
It should be ILLEGAL to put these two as 'R' units; they're the BEST LOOKING ONES.

I am very disappointed to the point I'm already considering dropping this game.
The game mechanics are confusing and requires attention to details; and let's face it, most mobile players' attention span, is short.

It has the potential, but even if they fix in-game issues and balance out the difficulty and other numerous issues, there's the ยฉ problem staring you in the face.

I feel like I wasted $15+ just to review this junk. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

๋ฎˆ๋ Œ: ์ฒœ๋…„์˜ ์—ฌ์ • | ํ•œ๊ตญ๋ฒ„์ „

...difficult to review this gameplay-wise, BUT HOLY SH*T, THE OPTIMIZATION OF THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE.
IT RUNS SO SMOOTH ON MY CRAPPY HONOR PAD X8a DESPITE THE CRAZY GRAPHICS (standard settings ofc). I've never played a 3D mobile game like this that's so smooth, no lag, loads incredibly FAST on a Snapdragon 680?!

Like, HOW?! GRAVITY can't even pull this off on their 4253564457766 incarnations of Ragnarok Online games, that's why I'm GENUINELY STUMPED.

The last 2 3D games I played with similar graphics are Ceres M &... forgot the name (LOL sorry XD) that boasts the same level of optimization, in comparison to a L2D game like Attack on Time: Kaisen of Girls, which had TERRIBLE run spec, so it's a real shame I can't give a full review of this.

Please, Devs of this game; release a Global version. /โ แ โ ๏ฝกโ ๊žˆโ ๏ฝกโ แŸโ \

3.8

Swordmaster Story's successor.
Epic Seven mixed with Girl Wars on an idle motiff.

Pros
- Very generous early game entry
- Easy workarounds on various QoL to the point whales have finished v1.0 content (WTF XD)
- Easy to understand game mechanics
- Very good graphics
- Relatively runs smooth on game

Cons
- Was released too early; with the obvious game launch birthpains
- REALLY BAD RNG ON GEARS.
- Can't operate normally w/ overlay apps (ex. screen recorder)
- Tendency to get stuck after a period of gaming
- 3* & 4* units will be left behind after a certain growth, wasting these characters unlike E7, where 3* & 4* units are viable mechanics-wise
- VERY HEAVILY META-ORIENTED to the point you waste characters & resources invested. Fix this immediately or...

I suggest playing this game at leisure; don't rush, or you'll end up bored relatively quickly.

Girl Wars | Global

Girl Wars | Global

3.0

Epic Seven but all girls.
Early artworks aren't that good, but the updated ones are quite great (and lewd o///o).
Def. P2W, but F2P can thrive.
Gear system's bloated with so much to upgrade, kinda discouraging.
Community is nice, but I feel it's a mask; they kick you out if you're weak XD
Sprites looks great, but can be janky at times, not quite on E7's level.

Game shuts down/lags around 8~10mins. of gameplay; I think it's not optimized well enough, and I've been playing this for a year just to confirm my suspicion RE optimization. Fix it.

League of Pantheons

League of Pantheons

3.4

Eh, I just like most of the designs; you can actually prosper F2P here, but will take a reaaaaaaally long time; and if you intend to compete, prepare to shell out $$$ enough to buy you a PC in the long run. Otherwise, really nice graphics <3
