Another day, another game to review. My close friend again recommended me to play this game although I was busy with other games during that conversation.
Again, I wont do my usual format but go with a more pro, cons and neutrality.
Everything is based on my opinion.
PROS:
- The style of gameplay
Fun fact: I used to play otome games when I was 9 years old. I have played games from the same company of Obey Me! and usual the game follows in a one ticket, one story but this functions in a level system.
It's quite surprising for me because I'm used to the usual format of get one ticket for one chapter, dress up, gacha etc.
- The sound design + voice acting
The sound design is good and the voice acting is no surprise to me that its good. I don't have so much to say for this other than I like it
NEUTRAL:
- The graphics
For an otome game to have Live2D in it (I'm just assuming so don't quote me), I'm impressed but I wasn't sure why some of the cards looks different in graphical direction.
I was expecting graphics similar to the cards (with better details, etc) but the graphics during the story seems a bit lackluster. Definitely looks like there's two artists or I'm just assuming.
- The gacha
The gacha ain't bad. Haven't got a fave character yet because I'm still deciding if I'm actually gonna play this game. Haven't seen the gacha rates yet so I'll edit this later.
- The storyline
Honestly, its pretty typical. MC gets transported to a Hell-like state full of demons who are trying to kill you and the only reason why youre there is because of this exchange program they have in Hell. You're kinda their first human (I'm assuming??) and there's these 7 hot demon brothers that represents the 7 deadly sins with the names from the Lesser Key Of Solomon (I think thats the title).
Obviously its an otome game which I could only say was "Really??"
I honestly feel like the story isn't going to be my favourite. Characters ain't bad, just that either they get annoying eveey few moments or just typical.
CONS:
The only thing that I didn't like was the story and graphics. Again, I placed them in neutral because I like them but at the same time I don't enjoy this game.
Conclusion:
Its a cute game but I just dont seem to enjoy this game for its hype. Maybe I've seen so many sh*t that I've probably find this game semi-typical and cringe. Dont get me wrong, its not a bad otome game since I've played some bad ones but I just don't seem to enjoy it myself.
Its good that this game gets its hype but I dont think its worth enough for me.
Wont be playing this game again unless I decided to give it some redemption.

Summary of review:
Its cute. I have my preferences on the game but overall I like it. I'm still weak on the rhythm game mechanic but its pretty easy to be honest unless I'm biting at the wrong side of the bone.
Full review (for those who has time to read this):
A close friend of mine recommended me to play the game even though I knew about this game over a year-ish. I'll weight this game more in a pro and con style with a bit of neutrality in it. It's a bit different format that my other reviews.
Please note that this is based upon my own experience playing the game.
PROS:
- Graphics are cute, love the chibi. Reminds me of KH: Unchained X
- Love the BGM, I think its well composed
- I love the overall game design. Pretty much fits the mysterious and prestigious vibe to it
- Its easy to follow the rules for the battles + rhythm game mechanic but its gets confusing
- This game isn't your typical high school (possibly not harem) game :) I love it when a scenario takes place in a college.
NEUTRAL:
- Its a gacha game obviously. The gems are so limited unlike other game I've played but I guess the gacha rates is okay.
- The battle mechanic reminds me of FGO and Housamo but out of the three games, I feel like Housamo isn't forgiving since you have to memorised almost 9 attributes instead of 3 or 5 but it gets confusing if you dont know what your enemies archetype is.
CONS:
- My first impression of the game went like this:
"Oh so we're basically in Hogwarts but we're really a muggle. Dont like where this is going but I'll keep playing"
"Can you guys stop fighting"
"Someone end me right now"
The story line has basically almost what I've expected. You have this MC who got dragged into this magical world where all these villians from Disney movies are commemorated of their evil deeds.... you get the point.
What I'm slightly pissed off after few minutes of playing this game is that it gets annoying after Chapter 12-16 (the chapter I'm in). I'm literally cringing while playing this game basically. I don't know if iits good cringe or a bad one but I guess it happens when I'm stuck with literally idiots.
Love it when MC knows how to make sense and I feel bad for MC because they get into trouble whenever Grim decides to cause chaos.
That's all I have for this review. Again, this is all based on my thoughts with the game. My opinions may change after a few days of experiencing the game.
Holy crap, I've been playing this game for a while now and it's finally time for me to place my review.
Summary (before I get into the details): It's a wonderful game. Shame that I get stuck sometimes because lacking in knowledge for team building. Love the voices too! The game play depends on who is in your team and who can make or break the game.
On to the details:
1) Graphics
It's good. Probably seen better but since this is one of the graphics which I rarely seen in media, of course my opinions will be somewhat critical but then again, I love the smaller details in each card and AR.
2) Sound
Not much to say other than I like the voice acting. Here's my problem, some of it are kinda repeated which annoyed a bit. Other than that, nothing much to say.
3) Gameplay
Here's where I get extremely detailed.
There's so a lot of characters with different attributes and each one can make or break the game completely. I'm probably going to touch upon the confusion I have when playing even after 3 months of playing the game.
Sometimes you cant stick to one solid team. You always have to change them depending on the enemies and the platform type. Sometimes I get so confused to the point where I depend mostly on my friend's unit instead of mine. This game wants you to literally grind and keep buffing up your characters for the sake of not dying on the 2nd round when you get confused to the gameplay mechanics.
(Been there, done that)
It also teaches you to determine which character can be your main DPS. Most of the tactics I've found are hard to execute or I just don't have the characters I need. Again, referring to it's slightly complicated gameplay, depending on the formation you really have to be smart and not go in guns blazing.
Not only that, you should also have at least one support character in your team. Any character that gives your main DPS or team the biggest buffs ever, please for the love of whatever god you pray to, BUFF THEM FIRST. The game gets extremely easy when your support is basically a machine.
Would like to add, the gacha is trashy but when you're lucky enough and this is my biggest advice, get yourself a 5★ the moment you are enabled to pull from it's gacha. I go through Chapter 1~4 instantly fast and easy with that 5★ I have due to my insane luck on getting that 5★ Halloween Police Toji. No lie no joke. Keep repeating until you managed to get a 5★ in a single pull. Hope RNG gods dont disappoint.
For each gacha banner, you gotta find a source on which it tells you what characters are in the gacha because all if not most of the gacha information arent even translated. You need that source if you decided to pull.
On the topic of 5★, please find some friends. Get someone who has a really good support team and add them as a friend. This game can get easy if you have friends who has the best support team. Plus, you can use their Charge Skill too.
4) Storyline
This is where the game gets better.
I love the story. At first, I expected the game would just slap you with a bunch of oversexualized characters and bad story telling but no. It actually blew my mind.
I love whatever lore they added with the protagonist(aka us) and made it an interesting story. I can't put spoilers but if you're interested in stories about loops, those "you remind me of someone" moments and sudden amnesiac protagonist who doesn't belong in anywhere then this game will be for you.
I love to theorise the story while playing so try not to skip so much because a single line from some characters can give you massive clues.
5) Value
The value isn't bad and I don't have a lot to say because I don't pay in-game stuff. This game doesn't have ads which is cool. Again, nothing else left to say other then okay I guess.
Overall, I would personally continue playing the game and hope that I'll gain more knowledge in team building because it is basically the bane of my existence right now.
If anyone is playing then when you see 'Miyu' in any of the support list, please do add lol. I don't have a good lineup of support teams but I'll get therr eventually.
Have a great day and thanks for reading my long review.
3 days into Project Sekai and already I'm addicted. Everything is great, works liek wonders and quite affordable for me in terms of in-game stuff except that I have problems, mainly its the game play.
I've played another rhythm/idol game called Hypnosis Mic Alternative Rap Battle/ARB for short and comparing to the game play, I'd prefer ARB because ever time I wanted to swipe the notes, it Does NOT REGISTERED (caps to show my frustration).
Also, I'm still not used to having the bar straight instead of a curve like Lanota and ARB + I really hate when we have to hold and release the longer notes. It's a huge no for me.
I've played other rhythm games before and sometimes it does lag due to my shitty internet which really sucks but PuroSeka doesnt lag at all. It's huge plus of why I still played it even though I hate the game play.
(I havent finished the game yet so bare with me + Im not a girl but the game looked interesting to play so yeah)
I'll just give the general idea of the game's story before jumping to my honest opinion.
Summary (Non-spoiler version):
You (The player) is getting an arranged marriage from you dad after you had turned 18 but you aren't interested in love or wanting to marry someone and thought that marrying at the age of 18 was too much. You ended up playing fire with fire and lied to your dad about having a (nonexistent) boyfriend and you've messed up.
On that day, you spot a boy begging for food and promised to be your (temporary) boyfriend in exchange for shelter + food. Of course you saw you opportunity and took him in and placed him in a villa.
You have a month (following the storyline of course) to turn him into a 'perfect' boyfriend.
My whole thoughts on the game:
The game itself is cute unless you're into petplay (lmao). I'm currently on the middle part of the story btw.
Gameplay wise, its basically a clicker game. You tap the screen, you get EXP to further the story. Unless you despise clicker games, it's not gonna be your game then. You can wait but its gonna be a whole lot of boredom. Btw, I love the MC aka us the player because not only she is rich but she can literally do anything. I respect her fully lmao.
The graphics is like your standard Otome game and it does have chibi drawings of Pochi, the dog-like boy that you "adopt" and as well as Maki too.
The BGM is nice, especially when you go to Maki's room. I guess since I'm a huge fan of jazzy and bossa nova like BGMs.
The prices aren't that bad. Affordable but it depends if you want to afford it. Plus, it seems like you can remove ads and get free sodas (which are one of the items to gain more Exp other than clicking)
Overall, its just load of waiting and since it has multiple endings and routes you take (I guess since I saw on the shop that you can get bonus content on Pochi or Maki), I decided to get all of them because why not?
Thats all for my general review of the game. I might update if I have finished the game itself + having all of the endings.
First of all, its a great game and I enjoyed the inclusion on the Solo Mode + have a traveling partner/YOME with you on your journeys.
Gameplay wise isnt my favourite since your skills during battles are random. I find it usefull that if you take damage after the battle ended, it auto heals you and your partner so a big plus for someone who hates using potions and healing items and waste them.
The storyline is pretty decent, mostly confused because there's a ton of tutorials and when I want to access the help menu, I wasn't pleased when it takes me to the website(which I don't mind after that) but hey, free gems (lmao).
I feel like the translations is a bit off, some of the lines is mistranslated but so far isn't that confusing.
As expected, it has a housing system which confused me the most because of how you place things and all.
If you hate confusion and a ton of tutorials, it may not be your cup of tea. I actually had to experiment on a few places and such.
The music is good, really fits to where and which place we go. About the ambient sounds, it bothers me a ton and I kinda wish if there was a diverse range of sounds like there will be a specific sound when we walk of dirt road and one for when we walk of glassy lands.
Lets move on to our partner aka our YOME + Solo Mode:
By far, the best idea I have encountered in any MMORPG. Not only our YOME are customizable but interactive. [Spoiler: There is a tutorial which I absolutely love actually hinted that our YOME has a crush on us but I will let you all take that lightly].
My YOME is freaking adorable everytime someone assume that we were a couple which was cute. We could also give gifts to our YOME too!
For Solo Mode, I actually like the idea because I am so introverted that I get anxious socializing with strangers and I dont really feel like I fit in everywhere so I appreciate this mode a lot.
Overall, I recommend this to literally anyone who is a social introvert who wants a solo mode + a partner who we can actually bond with and is interactive.
(i ended up re-write my review because updated opinions on arb. its pretty lengthy amd messy)
I kinda intended to write this review just to express my thoughts on the game and i have a lot to say.
Before starting, this game is in full Japanese. It doesnt have an English/International version (currently) and if you are not fluent in Japanese, I suggest you find a guide or if you like adventure then feel free to go in head first.
Also, I HAVE to mention this. Please bind your account before accidentally uninstall because one time I did that and all my Jyushi cards went 'bye bye'. If you dont want all your hardwork to go to waste pulling such rare and amazing cards then please BIND your account.
(Edit because I forgot to mention: If you have troubles on trying to save your storage, make sure to choose the first option (I will post a small guide on the timeline section) because if you chose the high quality one then it will eat almost 8 to 10 GB of your phone storage)
The storyline first start of introducing us - the player and a well-known DJ named DJ Rokuro before introducing to us the 4 divisions, recently adding 2 more aka Bad Ass Temple and Dotsuitare Hompo (ignore the typo).
At that point, it will split into 4 (will be 6 as of the time I write this since the latest 2 divisions are added in the epilogue) different routes from Ikebukuro to Shinjuku.
Whilst reading the stories, at some point you are required to finish a song in order to read the next chapter.
BTW, in the main story of the game, they have voice-overs but theres only one event that had a full voice-over.
Here is where I will be talking about the game play. At the start of the game, you will be given a tutorial on how to play.. blah blah blah...
For now, you have the basic N or Normal cards of the 4 leaders which are Ichiro, Samatoki, Ramuda and Jakurai. in each deck, you have 5 cards.
ARB has 4 difficulties ranging from easy, normal, hard to expert.
If you are an advanced rhythm game player, by now you know the layout of how the gameplay is (its a shape of a cd). If you like then you can skip easy and head on to a more difficult level and to be honest, I feel like ARB has the easiest for me to score?
i have played a ton of rhythm games that has the rows on them but I score best with the shape of the rows being sorta circular? It reminds me of those rhythm games in like arcades.
Anyway, here is where you require a guide. If you are annoyed by the background while playing then you should head on to the settings. If you feel adventurous then go ahead and mess around without the need of a guide.
Not only that, make sure to check how much energy you use. By default, everyone has 20 energy but you can stock up until 99 by using Rise Drinks (first option) or use your expensive and hard to get chips(?)/gems (I dont know what to call them but I will refer to them as gems).
Normally each time you play, it uses 5 energy. You can still play if you set it to 0 but you get less things at the end and less EXP. If you level up, it gives you 20 and like I said, these energy points stack so dont worry.
Now lets talk about these gems. Save them. I am serious. You can earn them by reading the chapters from the main story or the events. Theres one event that gives you Rise Drinks. These gems are hard to get once you have read all of the chapters + events.
Make sure to save the Rise Drinks if you dont want to waste your 100 gems to refill.
Here's a tip for those who just started or want to start, make sure to read all 10 chapters of all 4 divisions including the epilogue and prologue + the events which has their first chapter unlocked for free.
That way, you can see how much you got. Like I've said, make sure you save them.
Moving on to the gacha RNG of this game.
Fun fact, I am having a hard time with this game because it's so RNG. The gacha rate to get an SSR is 3% which is actually more forgiving than any rhythm/idol games that I have played which has the gacha in it.
You can use gems or tickets which tickets are by far a bit harder to find but they save your gems.
Even when its 3%, it only refers to a chance to get a random SSR card. Its fine when it includes all of the characters like the ARB gacha but when it comes to events, here is where I would like to smack my head in frustration.
Before pulling, make sure to read what you'll get because not only it's the event cards but theres always 2 more different cards of the same character that will be there as well.
Imagine pulling for 85 times out of 150 to get an SSR card that is not the event card. Yes, since it's RNG or Random Number Generator then it depends on luck. Imagine pulling for 85 times to almost get nothing.
Then again, if you are easily satisfied of getting at least 1 SSR card then good for you.
Me? For spending 85 pulls for almost nothing? Im not happy.
Lets ignore my anger and move on to the events.
I advised you to join events because some mission events actually gives you both tickets and at least a decent amount of gems.
Make sure to look out for these events such as the Alternative Street event but generally, any events is okay.
These events also provide story tickets to some past event stories too or you can get it fron the store.
The event stories are fun to read unless you're not fluent in Japanese. Like I've said, get a guide which is available if you search it up on Google.
Speaking about those cards from before, make sure to check your deck because the more SSR cards you have, the better you score.
By leveling up and level up their auto skill and their own skills in general.
I feel like leveling their auto skill is easier than their own skills but I wish that it would be more easier to find the materials to level up their skills than than finishing 5 boxes in the event gacha to get the materials. (If anyone knows how to get those materials please let me know).
Since I dont have much else to say, overall the game is pretty decent on some places (not much in the gacha but I am still mad).
Would I still play? Of course. It's fun to try and beat the more difficult levels (as someone who loves to get adrenaline pumping) as well as having a collection on SSR cards.
Anyway, I cant wait to read the main story for BAT and DH in their future updates and as of right now (when Im writing this) there is an event that I might join lmao. Gotta have em' all Have a nice day/night to those who are reading this or just passing by.
Devil Butler With Black Cat | Japanese
4.8Edit on 8/2/2022 because I messed up lol:
This was NOT what I expected but holy crap I love this game to bits. Mild spoilers up ahead folks!
This game caught my eye and I wasn't sure if I wanted to play this because my Japanese is still bad but I gave it a try and honestly I fell in love the moment I saw the options menu.
This game is tailored to anyone. You can play this even if you're a guy (which I'm technically genderfluid but I like to call myself a guy haha). I was expecting this to be otome-like game but it a genuine virtual butler-esque game that basically handles your calendar, schedule, weather and even your calorie intake. This app is like the app of my dreams.
Not only this game has 13 butlers for you to choose (f*ck it I'm getting everyone) but also you can interact with them! Every time I jump in, its not repetitive other than the general questions like "Are you okay?" or "How's your day?" questions. The butler that you choose also have interactions with the other butlers and it's ADORABLE.
The butler's themselves are extremely likable to me and I really love everyone in an equal way but Berrien stole my hear the moment he woke us up haha.
I am really swooning over this game so much. The graphics and art style really draws me in considering I love gothic + demons + butlers into one single game or genre. You can even dress them up too! Imagine all the clothes and combinations to choose from.
The lore is interesting too. I'd take it that the role's reverse where demons protects humankind from angels which actually look eerie the moment I saw one with Lono.
What's also interesting is that these butler's also have some hidden past of their own. Right now I'm already started the 3rd main storyline chapter and so far I'm getting extremely interested with the story. I wont spoil anything for now but I really do recommend anyone to play this with a translation if you don't understand Japanese. It kinda ruins the experience sometimes but it's worth it.
I would only spoile a bit about this info but there's also previous butlers too. So far there's only one former butler that was mentioned. I'm unsure but I feel like there's more than 13 before we met them but I'll leave the imagination to you on how they became the 'former' butler.
Here's where I start to be a bit more critical about this game. The fact that this game doesn't have any translations (other than fan-made ones, shout out to anyone who translate this game!) it will be hard to navigate. I suggest that you find a translation or study a bit on Japanese.
(Edited) I like to mentioned about these butterfly gems for currency that is normally used in gacha. It's pretty simple to get them. All you need to do is to read the story or do daily missions. They can be as simple as talking to ur butler of choice or taping on to passing butterflies (the ones that look purple, yellow, red, etc.)
Speaking of gacha, I haven't seen the rate but once you get to roll/pull, you'll be given a free 11 pulls + 1 SSR clothes set of your favourite character. You get that SSR set in a 100% rate so yeah. They cost like 3000 for 11 pulls and 300/30 (I forgot) for one pull.
You can even mix and match other butler's clothes to your butler too!
The voice acting as well did really wowed me. Of course when mid-way into the story then suddenly there's no voice acting but honestly I love whoever did casted these voice actors. They did a good job at portraying the characters. I'm really happy with Berrien's VA especially when Berrien giggles that it gets so cute :'')
Other than that, I actually wish there's a seperate schedule for students such as myself with more details but I'm fine with the schedule for now.
After finding out this game, I regret absolutely NOTHING and will continue playing this game because I really adore the fact that you can have your own demon butler!
