MoreBest indie game ever
Seeing no one put in a proper review of this game.
Club suicide is by far one of the most introspective, genre bending, emotionally moving games I've ever played. Despite being only less than 25hrs long I have been absolutely destroyed. The writing is good, characterisation is good, music is quaint, every thing is just super good, and everything is done by primarily one person, I can't shut up
Its title as an anti romance otome game is just like what you get, it is not in the least romantic, but as the player and the heroine get to understand more about the boys and how they perceive life, death, and how it means to be human, it is a narrative that grips you and chills you. I believe players can see a bit of themselves in all the characters. Speaking of characters, the boys are incredibly diverse and all their stories stand out, even the bad ends stand for something and personally are the best part of the game despite making me sob like a bitch.
A fair warning about this game though, if it's not obvious enough there's a big trigger warning with mild gore, self harm, but going deeper into the game it is likely to trigger some negative personal experiences, which the game warns at the beginning. I also implore people not to use machine translate because this game is incredibly methaphorical and difficult, even a japanese speaker like myself has to slowly read and understand. Otherwise, it is a very solid game if you have a strong spirit.
additionally: blurb is wrong, the characters are NOT necessarily depressed or are suffering from depression. While it is true of some characters, it is more nuanced for others.
