Zenless Zone Zero | Global

finally, the wait is over!!

funny enough, i wasn't interested in zzz until about two weeks from release lol

graphics: first off, this game looks stunning on my phone! it does not look blurry at all. the quality of the animations are amazing, i just love how bouncy and cartoony they are, it's really eye-catching. it has that cool urban style, the world reminds me of splatoon so much, which is probably why i was hooked.

sound: the gacha music is a banger. the fact that the music changes if you get an s rank agent is some nice detail. the vas are good, there are some that aren't as great but none are neccessarily bad. i wish the game had put the va names somewhere on the character details.

gameplay: it's a hack-n-slash game. i find the gameplay pretty simple when it comes to combat, but tbh i like it that way. there's no complicated buttons to learn and press at a specific time.

there is also a puzzle segment as well, which i think people are turned off as it's not as exciting as the combat. i'm not crazy about it either but i think it's alright.

storyline: it's okay so far. ive only gotten through the first chapter but i like how they went with a different approach this time. the MC(s) is already familiar with the world and there's no large scale save the world from this thing just yet. it does suffer from expecting you, the player, to understand certain terms without explaining it directly but that's a hoyoverse thing anyways. i also like that is an entirely seperate game from the other hoyo games like tears of themis. also if you're not interested in the story, you can skip it!

value: the gacha is typical hoyoverse standard. if you haven't played a hoyoverse game, the rate for an s rank agent (highest rarity) is 0.6 and if you roll on the limited banners (new characters) the first time you get a five star you have a 50/50 shot at getting the banner character and a standard banner character, if you lost you're guarenteed the limited character the next time. pity is 90 rolls and is carried over limited banners. the gacha currency is called polychrome and is exchanged for two different kinds of tape (another currency), one is used to roll for limited banner other is for standard.

the game is advertising 180 free pulls right now, but keep in mind these are obtained by playing through the content, not just outright (this is hoyo we're talking about)

however you do get a free standard s rank agent after 50 rolls on the standard banner, it is random. i got to 50 rolls within about 2 hours of gameplay. after 300 rolls, you can select which s rank you want. you get 20 standard rolls from pre-register rewards and 10 straight out from an event when it's unlocked.

What in Hell is Bad?

What in Hell is Bad?

2.8

what in hell is bad, more like, why the hell are the devs so greedy

graphics: 4/5

characters look good, chibis look a bit off. the l art looks amazing but if you play on google play or the appstore, some of the art is censored. the main demons are hot, was only playing for beelzebub basically.

sound: 3/5

vas are good, i can't hear the game backgroud music most of time, kinda quiet but its fine

gameplay: 2/5

its tower defense (yawn), i think i would have liked it better if it was a generic rpg instead. my biggest gripe is the sheer amount of battles you have to do, why in the world would i want to do 50+ tower defense stages in a single chapter, i haven't even finished the first chapter because it was like this. you cant even save teams so you have to make a team every single time. it just feels draining and even looking at the amount of battles makes it draining.

story: 3/5

this is my thoughts on the first few story chapters, since i haven't finished chapter one and wont since i'll be uninstalling unless the devs improve. the story is fine, i like the characters. the h scenes felt like it was written by a fanfic writer, but it was decent. there's also typos and grammatical error if i remember correctly.

value: 2/5

devs are greedy, so basically everytimes new l rank (the highest rarity) cards are released, they are sent to a banner where you only use a currency called solomon rings, how can you obtain them? offer your wallet. the only way you can get these is maybe from a compensation from the devs (which you wouldn't get much) or paying for them. the cards eventually go to standard banner but they'll be mixed with older cards. the main reason i'm uninstalling is because they released a banner with the angels, which are the antagonists, and they fall into the paid only currency gacha but they're lims, meaning they won't go to standard so they only way you can get them is by paying and they're not guarenteed unless you spend a ton of money (takes 250 rolls for guarantee)

if you're rolling on the standard banner, the rates for the characters are split with artifacts, which are items characters can equip, so if you think you got an L rank, chances are you're just getting a dupe of an artifact you have. as someone who has played fgo for years, this is annoying. there are also two seperate banners, i think one focuses on artifacts (gold keys), the other characters (red keys), but the difference isn't huge, you still have a higher chance of getting artifacts in the "character" banner.

battlepass is also expensive, 50 bucks for the highest tier which is the only way you can get one of the angel characters (he's not in the gacha)

so yeah i'm uninstalling unless the devs improve but apparantly they have a tendency to not listen to their fanbase.

IDOLY PRIDE | Japanese

i recently picked this up due to the miku collab and im enjoying it a lot more than i thought.

graphics: this game is super pretty, both models and card art. the models do look crunchy on my phone, but if you have a better device, it will 100% look better.

sound: idol music, in my ensemble stars review i stated that im not a fan of idol music. the songs are good, don't get me wrong. i really like their miku collab song

gameplay: first off, this is not a rhythm game!! it gives off an illusion that it is in the game but its not.

there isnt a whole lot of "gameplay" in this, its an idle game. you basically level up your idols and have them go through stages, where they activate skills and you have to hit a certain score. im sure there is supposed to be strategy with the cards but i don't understand it so i just have the game automatically make a team.

theres other things like idol work where you can earn exp and leveling materials. it takes a long time for it to complete fully, but you can exit out of it and the game will let you know when the idols are done. again this is an idle game, so there isn't a crazy amount of things to do. there is a tower mode and a pvp mode that is unlocked later.

the idols can message you in game, not sure if it does anything but its cute.

value: surprisingly enough, i have no complaints.

the game starts you off with enough diamonds for a little over one 10 pull, 20 gacha tickets and two 4☆ tickets.

if you're unsatisfied with your gacha pulls, you simply delete your account through the game and restart, no redownloading and when you restart you do not do the tutorial again.

the rate are 3.5% for a 4☆ which is good, slightly above standard. for the miku collab gacha, they do have double rates, so they occasionally have double rates.

D4DJ Groovy Mix | English

graphics: The card art is beautiful in this! i love that they move when fully trained. the chibis look good. some of the live 2d characters look kinda wonky but that's ok

there are some... questionable card arts but i would just ignore those and don't bother pulling them

sound: the songs are rlly good in this! i like the different takes they do on the covers. the only gripe I have is that is the jp server is way too bloated with original audio songs, meaning no cover.

gameplay: this game is challenging at first and possibly overwhelming, but the game does a good job at helping new players.

what this game does different is there is two extra notes, the pink slider and the red hold notes. the pink slider only needs to be slided when it moves, if its still, you don't need to move it. the red slider temporarily pauses the notes as you hold it. the game does offer options to have them automatically do both or either one (i can't remember), but it will dock your score if the more you have the game go automatic.

upgrading characters and stuff isn't too difficult. its a lot like bandori in that regard.

storyline: i haven't read too much of the stories actually. i think ive read rondo's and that was it. i don't really have a say if they're interesting or not

value: the gacha is fine with a 3% for a 4*, which is average. it takes 100 rolls to hit soft pity and 300 to hard pity.

my main gripe isn't with the gacha itself but rather their stingyness (?)

its hard to get diamonds (the premium currency) in this game, once you're done with all the stories, it becomes hard. the events don't even give out much, 350 for the event story and 300 for exchange, which is 650 only enough for two singles.

you do receive diamonda for getting full combos and SS scoring songs and i like that if you ss score a song on hard for the first time and receive diamonds, you can do expert and hit ss and recieve diamonds as well.

there is a separate ticket gacha(s), which I wish they would just get rid of the original one at this point. the original one only has the initial cards while the 2022 one has the sp cards and all permanent gacha cards and more than likely gets updated. you can still exchange coins for 10 tickets for the original ticket gacha (don't bother unless you are missing a good majority of the initial cards).

there are wayyy too many collabs, its kinda ridiculous. i don't mind collabs but you can tell they are desperately trying to keep this game relevant. im not saying its dying, but its more than likely falling behind sekai and bandori. it becomes hard to save with the amount of collabs because who knows when they'll get a rerun.

i do like this game, don't get me wrong but I hope it improves. 🙏

Fire Emblem Heroes

Fire Emblem Heroes

3.8

graphics: its pretty good. the characters are drawn by different artists. the chibi overworld sprites look good

sound: i love fe music that's all [開心]

gameplay: the gameplay does get pretty boring at times. i frequently uninstall and reinstall because of that. there are way too many extra gamemodes at this point and i don't even bother with most of them, i only bother with the story mode, tempest trials, forma, forging bonds and voting gauntlet. each gamemode is pretty much the same at it's core

i don't bother with competitive game modes like aether raids because its filled to the brim with power creep

story: the story is good for a mobile fe game. i really enjoyed book 3 and i loved it took upon a different atmosphere and mood. book 4 was pretty good too. the others are kinda meh, if you don't care about the story, you can just skip it

value: oh boy....for the positives the game does give out free 5* heroes for special events like choose your legends and other anniversary related events.
at the beginning of each book, from book 2 onward, you get a free 5* hero at the start. the older ones have been probably outdone already via powercreep but they should get things done in the story. they do give out free gacha tickets for events and each gacha has a free roll when you roll the first time. it takes 5 orbs to start a summon and decreases the amount of orbs needed when summon a full circle

now for the negatives.

powercreep: each time a new banner pops up, there's a particular unit that has the next big skill and insane stats. if you play any of the pvp game modes, you will run into these units. also any old units that came out early game are useless unless you spend a lot of time working with them. any rarity below 5* is useless without promotion in the game, unlike fate go.

gacha: the rates are good, but there is no rate up. so there is a possible chance you won't get a banner unit before you hit pity. i actually really like they added pity, i've hit it a few times as a f2p.

feh pass: this game does have a premium pass. it locks pretty good features behind it such as gameplay looping. it is 9.49 USD per month which is pretty pricy if you ask me. it also locks pity for legendary hero and mythic heroes behind it as well. there are also resplendent heroes, which are upgrated older heroes with new art that are locked behind feh pass.

favoritism: if you like a character that isn't popular, don't expect many alts of them in game. i understand that this game has a humongous cast with every fire emblem game in it, excluding the warriors exclusive characters. so be aware that they favor towards more popular characters and games, such as 3 houses.

overall this game is fine, i usually end up uninstalling after getting bored, but if you enjoy it thats fine 👍

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! | English

i love this game to death, but i really wish they would fix the crashing issues already.

Ensemble Stars!! Music | English

finally english enstars....

graphics: The 3d mvs are super nice on this, they look super smooth but my phone does lag on occasion so ill probably turn them off. im also not a huge fan of the text font, but they do have a feature to change it but its not fully supported yet (why did they change the font in the first place if you can just change it back???)

sound: its idol music. im not a huge fan of idol music but some of the songs are catchy

gameplay: its a rhytm game mostly with some production stuff on the side the rhythm portion is really fun and challenging

story: unfortunately i haven't read all of chapter 1 yet so i don't have a full opinion, but i do like the ablility to skip stories unlike the jp version

value: the gacha is okay, they haven't released any focus banners yet, but i believe the rate is 3% for a 5☆ which is standard. at the start you can reroll for your fav idol and you can obtain a 5☆ out of them. they did up the amount of dias needed for a 10 roll, but keep in mind the rewards were brought up to balance that

overall a good game! im glad this got an English release

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lost Stories | Japanese

personally i think this code geass game is better than the other one that is out right now (genesic re: code)

graphics: i would say its pretty good, the battles are in 3d and you can adjust to what you need. the characters are in live 2d and it looks okay

sound: really reminiscent of the og code geass. you can change the bgm to that of any of the openings from the anime or ost (edit: with paid gems unfortunately)

gameplay: its tower defense, if you enjoy arknights, you'll like this. i don't know too much about upgrading the knightmarr frames so far, but there are different types (shooter, melee, healer and i believe a buffer)

value: the gacha is okay, the rates are pretty standard (3% for a 4 star) the game gives you a free roll after the tutorial which you get a free 4 star. it takes 3,000 gems to roll 10x and 300 for one roll. gems have been easy to get so far with missions and log in bonuses.
after completing the beginner missions you get a 4 star ticket
