Dynamix

Dynamix

3.5

《DYNAMIX》

So, Dynamix is a rhythm game that unlike others, does not have an actual storyline or chapters to read. It's basically just a rhythm game.

Gameplay-- The beatmap of Dynamix has three types of notes-- the ordinary blue notes, the yellow notes (hold mechanic) and red notes (slide mechanic) and it utilizes three sides of your screen. Notes can appear from the middle to the right, middle to the left and from up to down. There is usually a slider on the left side that helps with red notes that I find very useful! In Casual up to Normal levels, you'll find it very easy to get Omega rating (highest-- all perfect) but even as a veteran, I still find some of the Hard and most of the Giga and Mega levels so difficult to play. Usually, notes appear from all three sides of the screen simultaneously in harder levels which is why I think that if you want to be extremely good in this game, you're going to need three hands (lol) or have very flexible and agile fingers. All notes can also appear at the same time from the same direction so you must learn how to combine their mechanics as you play. It's very challenging and at the same time, creative.

Sound-- The songlist is quite a lot even if you don't upgrade to premium though you can play during events to further expand your songlist since you can earn fragments (currency) and use them to buy that event track in varying difficulties. If you're not a casual rhythm player and you'd like to play even more songs, premium is the way to go! Just rank up and unlock those tracks! As for the quality of the songs, they are pretty nice and very EDM-ish, rich in beats and such. Not a lot of songs have vocals, which I'm sad about, but that should be fine in general!

Graphics-- The graphics are really good and I like the artworks featured in the background per music. Some are animated while some are just still backgrounds but both types are really cool and nice to look at. Sometimes though, the flashing effect of the background may hinder with the gameplay-- especially if you're quite new with rhythm games.

Final verdict, it's a pretty nice rhythm game that can hone your finger agility and speed. For beginners, you might find it difficult at first but for veterans, it's a good practice and challenging past time (⌒ω⌒)

Obey Me! Shall we date?

《OBEY ME!》

Obey Me is a game that I have been playing for 6 months now and I think that that duration is enough for me to give a reasonable review.

So, let's first talk about the Gameplay. Obey Me gameplay has a mini-game inside that you need to play in order to continuously read / unlock the storyline. This mini-game is in the form of a dance battle. Basically, you just choose your cards depending on the type indicated in that stage for faster clearance and then you tap on hearts that appear on the screen. First point-- with regards to this simple mechanic, I found it a little boring that when I unlocked chapters up to what's available now, I find myself just auto-clearing. It's convenient, I guess, but it gets pretty monotonous and boring as it goes. Second point-- as chapter progresses, stage requirement becomes harder to reach so you will need to constantly upgrade your cards. However, like in any other games, you will need certain items. For me, the drop-rate of items in dance battles is pretty low, especially in the hard mode of chapters. It's fine for players like me but for new ones, they might find it too demanding, especially now that they have added additional items to obtain to break the level cap of cards. Third point-- I commend the job function to earn more grimm since it's a pretty idle mechanic and it does not require the players to be in the game for too long. Fourth point-- everyday missions are pretty easy to do, even for new players, and what's good about this is that it rewards players with Devil Points-- the main currency of the game. I appreciate that compared to other otome-gacha games, this one isn't as greedy as others, at least with the Devil Points, since I noticed that recently, they've bumped up the event requirements to get good demon and memory cards compared to before-- which was far easier. All in all, I give the gameplay a solid 4.

Storyline-- Well, the story of the game is pretty basic but still interesting because despite having a lot of characters (7 Demon Brothers and Four Sides), it wasn't all over the place, which is good for a game that does not really have that route system usually present in otome games. I just wish that the main character can interact more intimately and personally with the other brothers (Eg. Asmodeus) since it is pretty obvious that they focused more on Lucifer and Mammon. Anyway, what else-- you get interaction points when you choose certain options (Also if you meet them as Surprise Guests after Dance Battles) and from here, there is an exclusive content-- a phone call-- everytime you reach affection level of multiples of 5 for each brother-- which I find totally adorable, courtesy of the voice actors behind each character. The event stories are pretty cool too. They deviate from the actual game universe but not so much so that it becomes a whole other thing.

Gacha-- The UR rates are pretty low, yes, but with the game's generosity in giving Devil Points, I'd say that it's justified compared to other gacha games. One could easily go F2P with this game, as long as they prioritize earning DP for gacha pulls instead of other things. As for the other stuff, the bundles in the game are also always on sale so it could get pretty tempting to spend but I assure you that the bundles actually do help by giving vouchers, energy and glowsticks (which are crucial if you don't have a lot of UR cards and you're at Chapter 20+).

Graphics-- The graphics are pretty good and the user interface is very easy to understand. There is inconsistency among the artstyle of the cards though but that's okay and explainable since as far as I know, Solmare hires multiple third party artists to do the cards. Still, even if they are inconsistent, they are very good and pleasing to the eyes, individually.

So, final verdict, I'd say that this game is a pretty nice otome-gacha type of game. It might not be the usual route-based gameplay but it is still fun and pretty easy to play. Kudos to Solmare Shall We Date for this masterpiece (´,,•ω•,,)♡

Hypnosis Mic: Alternative Rap Battle | Japanese

《HYPMIC ALTERNATIVE RAP BATTLE》

First and foremost, since this is a rhythm game, let's talk about the gameplay. It honestly isn't that bad since it follows the usual rules for rhythm games-- tap, slide, hold. There's an interesting addition though-- the green note which is also a slide mechanic but it moves all the other notes with it. It's kind of a unique feature that I enjoy. I must agree with some though, with regards to difficulty. Most of the expert level songs are quite easy to Full Combo, in my opinion. Then we have the stamina issue. Energy recharge is kind of weird since it goes for one energy per hour and I guess that's okay with how generous they are with the energy drink (?) to replenish energy but the thing is, it's weird how the energy cap isn't increasing as I level up. I'm currently at DJ Rank 30 and I still have only 20 energy. If they insist on that style, the least they could do is add one in the energy cap in intervals of five levels (eg. you get +1 energy capacity as you reach Lv. 15, 20, 25, 30...). So, technicalities, the tap sounds could be better too but it's manageable. The song choices are a little too restrictive since it's a fairly new game (but I still think having just around 7 or so songs for the pilot quite sucks) and there's not a lot of songs as of now yet. But I do get it since there aren't a lot of HypMic songs out there in the first place anyway-- just a solo song for each member and one group song for each division with a little sprinkle of all-stars songs. This makes me wonder how they will extend the list of songs without touching the "Before the 2nd DRB" territory where they'll be forced to incorporate the two new divisions as well. Are we going to hear new songs exclusively for the game? Who knows, right?

Storyline-- I personally think that the storyline of this is a little underwhelming. Your choices doesn't really affect the "story" since there are no gauge or meter for choosing whatever option-- unlike other games out there. It also feels like you're playing all the routes at once since there are separate chapters for each division-- but you can unlock them at the same time. It's a shame that there's not much we can get from the story itself. It pretty much narrates itself for us-- with our choices not having that much of an effect. There is also no other mechanic with regards to building connections that might add bonuses for the gameplay so I'm a little disappointed with that. This may sound a little otome-ish but I was expecting at least the latter point I mentioned for boosts in gameplay.

Gacha-- It's a little more expensive than most games out there. The reward system that gives players the game currency isn't that generous so playing during events to get easy tickets is a must. As for events, it's not that grindy for people like me who genuinely like playing rhythm games but I could see that it gets a little repetitive and grindy for people who are pretty much casual with these type of games. The past two events were a little better though since the duration isn't as short as the ones before.

Graphics-- Here is where I have an issue. Why is the interface of this game so outdated. Well, I get that this was supposed to be released a year or so ago or something but still, the user interface is not pleasing to the eyes. I know that they're going for that "HipHop" look but I think it looks cheap and try-hard for me so I don't like it that much. They could've made it better when they had the time. I know that it isn't that easy but come on, why release it if it's half-baked as it was?

All in all, it's a pretty average game and I think that if you weren't a fan / you didn't know HypMic before this game, you wouldn't really be pulled into playing it. That's all. Thank you!

I LOST MY HYPMIC ARB ACCOUNT Today, I am very sad because after the update of HypMic, an error message popped up in my screen. When I restarted the game, the option to start a new account by putting a DJ name and Birthday showed up instead. I can't get back to my initial account because I wasn't able to bind it to my Google Play beforehand because it was downloaded from here.
I am very sad because I might not be able to recover it. I got most of the limited edition event SSRs in that account and most of the Birthday cards too (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ
