A charming mobile otome game with amazing art and voice acting. It's got a great translation, and a great cast of characters and interesting story. So far, it seems low spender friendly and it's great for casual players. The game doesn't demand your time and dailies are easy to do.

As a rhythm game and husbando lover, this is an amazing game. The 3D models and animations are top notch, the music is overall really great, and the story is very endearing. I've been playing for months and absolutely enjoy it!

A very simple and easy to pick up raising sim with cute anime boys based on Disney Villains. The real draws to this game are the boy's designs, personalities, and artwork. It's incredibly casual and best treated as a side game. It has auto repeat for lessons (where you grind mats) and auto for the RPG section of gameplay. The main story is fully voiced and overall entertaining, albeit a bit repetitive with the story structure. The RPG gameplay is like a simplified version of FGO or Magia Record. It has some strategy but it's still very simple. Unfortunately the rhythm game section is one of the worst I've seen for rhythm games in years. The settings and UI are incredibly rudimentary to downright awful. The music is incredibly underwhelming and doesn't work well for timing notes. It's not a major part of the game but it is not fun to play. Overall the gameplay is not demanding and simple, but a bit dull and could use improvement.

The gacha has a 1.5% rate for an SSR , which is somewhat low but standard. After 100 rolls you are guaranteed an SSR but it isn't guaranteed to be the rate up SSR (pity system). Generally seems f2p friendly if you're not summoning on every banner and aim only for your favorites.

Overall, I find this to be a non-offensive casual game to have auto repeat lessons while you do something else and read stories on your free time. It's not spectacular, but the characters are generally pretty lovable and keep you entertained enough. Don't expect a game with top notch gameplay and enjoy the cute anime boys.

Alright, general first impressions of Tales of Luminaria. I have played chapter 1 of Leo's story, did one of the raid boss things, and cleared daily missions.

First off, very easy rereolling. Just download everything at first, grab the currency from the present box, and roll the gacha. Delete the account if you're not satisfied. Rinse and repeat. Easy rerolling is always welcome.

First thing I notice is that the UI is really overwhelming at first. It's not bad to look at, but it's not really easy at first to know what things are or where to go. It seems to be kind of designed after social media apps in its presentation. I don't know if it's my device that's causing this issue but the menus run really slow and laggy. This might vary depending on device.

For the actual gameplay, the portrait mode does NO FAVORS for the combat. It's like Tales of the Rays, but portrait mode, and worse. You can't change the camera angle and frequently during mob fights, a monster will suddenly ambush you from the side because you could never see them coming. I also haven't noticed any way to change who to target so it felt like I was at the mercy of the game deciding who to aim at. Overall felt clunky and weird. Between fights you run around a big and rather empty map gathering items and having scenes where you talk with characters. I wasn't a fan of how long it took to traverse the map. For some reason, the game ran better during gameplay than the menus lol

In terms of the story/writing, it looks like some characters definitely are written better than others. I saw Yelsy's story from a stream and that was much more enjoyable. Leo's was pretty generic and there was literally a scene where a lore dump was really badly written because apparently Leo was too dumb to remember anything in his life and his childhood friends had to explain shit to him.

Overall, it's a really mixed bag. It feels like a Tales game in name only, like they slapped the Tales title on it to sell it better. Try it out if you're interested to decide your feelings. I give it a 3/5.

An absolutely wonderful transition to mobile for the Tales series. It's very easy to play and pick up while keeping the spirit of the Tales gameplay. Incredibly f2p friendly with a steady sourcs of diamonds, a gacha with generous rates, and lots of goodies you can get from login bonuses and missions. My biggest complaint definitely has to be the awful load times though. I migrated to Tales of the Rays after being sadly disappointed with how Tales of Crestoria came out. It's very unfortunate that the global version of this game was cancelled, but I'm sticking with the JP version until the very end.

Overall a great soundtrack with great variety and a colorful cast of really cute boys. The MVs and character models are in 3D which people might or might not like depending on their taste. The main story is fully voiced. Gameplay is pretty standard for a rhythm game but the main issue is that the notes are generally hard to see. The notes themselves are very small and you can't adjust their size (as of the initial release of the game, might change in the future). The line connecting double notes together is very thin and not very clear. The UI can also be slightly difficult to navigate. Overall a solid game but definitely needs QOL changes.

A very high quality rhythm game with a large cast of lovable and cute anime boys. Even with little to no knowledge of Japanese, the game is easy to pick up. Great art, fun and catchy music, quality beat maps, and pretty good UI. Unfortunately there is no auto play for songs and the gacha rates are pretty low. Grinding events is pretty intense as you have to play every song manually and it's exhausting
