It's a decent game. I haven't run into any bugs on my device. Much like how some dishes can still be pretty good when prepared in a simple manner, this game likewise doesn't do anything new that hasn't been done before, but the end product remains enjoyable. It doesn't have the touch of a Michelin star, yet I'll return for another taste when I crave for something on the side.
Visually, I like this game better than the previous, Shadow of Death 2, though they're similar. Gameplay-wise, I prefer the other. Blocking and dodging feel so much better in that other game. In addition, those bosses have a more fun moveset to work against. Here, I feel like I'm playing a jumping game. The unblockable, near full room AoEs, forces the player to disengage. The major complaint I have is the final boss. Its AI is reminiscent to that of those annoying fighting games of the past. It'll wait for you to input a command and then instantaneously respond, faster, stronger, harder. During that fight, I would think of some kind of exploit to cheese the boss instead of engaging it with the mechanics I'm given. It's borderline anime how fast that final boss moves around the stage. And I'm not willing to commit grinding boring stages to make up for its demands.
The story and music is quite enjoyable, however the gameplay is uninspired, and the progression is lazy. It gets worse after the first couple of chapters, then you're hit with a wall that forces you to participate in distasteful tactics that is rampant in the mobile industry. It's a boring grinding fiesta that kills all the fun. Grinding can be made fun, but not here. Sure they're generous with gems, however, most of the time, you can't use the them for anything. That's where they want you to use paid currency. I'd recommend to play this game until you hit a progression wall. This and SinoAlice. Sadge.
