The rhythm gameplay can feel a bit confusing, but I'd like to believe you can get used to it. At least I did. No flex but after you mess up your timing after playing several rhythm games, you can't mess it up anymore than it already did. This game is fun and simple. Keeps me on my toes if I'm not listening to the song closely enough.
The units are nothing to worry about. They're super cute and also easy to get. Finish the tutorial and you get to roll a bunch.
The songs being cut apart is understandable. The songs are just too long to be viable as one beat map. I was looking forwards to a certain song but it isn't here... Otherwise, the songs are unlocked as you play. Though the songs are very similar to each other and isn't my favorite.
I personally liked the interface. I did find the constant song playing to be a bit annoying. And the loading screen is a little off-putting. Everything else is eye candy
I think the big 3 that *you* want from the game are the following:
-Mm hot guys (and cute, we don't discriminate)
-Nice songs (there are good songs, but you might feel unused to rap)
-Unique gameplay (there are some weird kinks but it's unique)
The system feels nostalgic, if you've played games ever since "back then". You need to use the inbox system a little too much. Might feel a bit clunky for some reason. Unanimated transitions maybe? Who knows? It seems a little inconvenient but it's nothing you can't deal with.
The units are nice and aren't a big deal. The team menu is called "My Men" which is well put. The outlay is a little weird because the icons don't tell you what goes where. You might have to tap around and figure out where the team configuration and other features are.
Personally, I think the rhythm system is very unique. But, I think that it plays a little weird sometimes. My timing for the game was very off and it took me a while to configure. Some "hold" notes don't like to cooperate especially when the beat map has some crazy swerving holds. Everything else is self explanatory, and a tip for the green "scratch" notes is how all the notes move the direction of the scratch.
Overall a nice game. Not the top but it's still interesting
I almost regretted buying the actual Project Diva game on the PS4. I dropped the original Bandori a while ago, but I have to say that so far the songs are great. Sometimes the vocaloids don't sing some songs as well, but you can fix it by switching the audio track.
The swipes are much better than Bandori. Though, I have to argue that configuring the timing is a bit tedious. The notes don't always match the song.
Gacha is fun and rankings aren't too bad (or at least I don't mind). Leveling up cards may seem slow, but it isn't hard when you participate in events. Event tokens can give great exp books. To a non-Japanese speaker, I struggle to read skill leveling descriptions and fragment descriptions, but you'll generally do fine.
I'm sure that the stories are promising. The concept is interesting, and, from what little Japanese dub I understood, some characters have quite the backstory. There is a group out there fan translating this, so don't let this discourage you.
Helll yeah. I'm not a guy, so I can't appreciate the huge chests. But the art and soundtrack is amazing (unleaa your phone doesnt have enough storage). I played without downloading the voices and it was actually better. Sometimes it gets grindy on the daily dungeons, leveling up 5+ childs (units) and hot time, but the events and updates make up for it.
Events usually involve stories about new childs. It's fun to cooperate with people during World boss and Raids. Also PvP isn't bad unless you're the delusionl type that wants to be #1 on the board. They're dominated by the ones who play this game the longest anyways. Even being on a lower rank gives you free currency to roll for summons. Less grindy than GBF, 100% better rates than FGO, amazing art and UI. What more do you want? Oh but new units shake the meta sometimes.
