I love the music especially since it isn't generic idol pop. The gameplay with notes is really fun, similar to Ensemble Stars music, but with more variation and less overly strict judgement in timing.
The one complaint I have is with events. It takes waaaay too much to earn even just one card from the events. So...
I end up just ignoring the events and only play once in a while when I feel like playing just for fun. Otherwise for events I would rather play in IDOLiSH7 for easily earnable event rewards as well as free gacha pulls that I have not seen HypMic give any free. So HypMic is more a game to play very casually on the side. Not something I would invest in tbh. If you think of it like that, then it is a good game.
PS: Also I am sad that my older smaller phone which is more comfortable to play rhythm games is not compatible with this game. It is compatible with i7 so you would think since this is all 2D with even less content, it SHOULD be...
If you are looking for an actually ENGLISH RPG game with Otome or BL/Yaoi elements, that is not just a visual novel, this is finally it!
It has actual gameplay to it, though it is simplistic (dance battle but not rhythm, you just tap things on the screen as they appear), it's definitely interactive and with things to do other than just reading stories. It is more of an RPG, just in the form of dance battles.
The story in the game is also really entertaining so far, and the characters so far are all really interesting and cute. They are by no means bland, and your character is actually interacting with them more than just standing around listening.
In the event story, you can even command them to kiss you which has really cute reactions.
One big thing I noticed is that your character's gender is left ambiguous, which I really love because it lets you imagine yourself as either female or male or any gender or agender or anything you want! (I am gender-nonconforming irl so this is great for me) Your character's dialogue choices are also pretty varied personality-wise so it feels like there's much more freedom to develop your character than with the typical Otome/BL choices, you do not have to be a naive doormat-type for once (unless you want).
Though my first impression of the dialogue cut-in art wasn't so good because the characters in the Live2D art are kind of rough looking, probably from the lack of shading (it is possible it may just be me from using an emulator?). You get used to that over time though, and the rest of the art, especially the card art is really pretty to make up for that.
This game is basically the same gameplay as Love Nikki, but with a different art style. If you're familiar with Arina Tanemura, the shoujo manga artist and also character designer for IDOLiSH7, she is the artist for this game as well and so you would probably recognize her art style in the characters.
It may not have as much clothing yet as Love Nikki, but the clothes they do have so far is super cute if you're into more fantasy or elegant gothic lolita styles.
Sadly there is no male character to dress up, but just like LN there is the option for a tomboy-type character named Snowdrop, shortly after the beginning story in the game, who can sort of pass as a very young boy.
The story seems to be revolving around your 4 characters who you can dress up separately and have different preferred fashion style, who are dolls. Think Rozen Maiden, where the dolls are sort of alive, but they dress up instead of fight.
One feature aside from the storyline I noticed unique from Love Nikki was that there is another gameplay mode, though it's limited times per day, which is more like Style Savvy/New Style Boutique kind of gameplay where you fit NPCs into clothing fitting their request. I thought that was pretty neat. Other than that, it is basically like a more EGL-focused more anime-style reskin of Love Nikki.
Of all the Idol games, or really any ikemen games, this has the most "real" storyline and characters. There is intense drama in story.
The gameplay is fun if you like rhythm games. Only downside is that Stamina gets used up pretty quickly if you play harder modes, and it can take getting used to some notes like the flicks or sliding notes in harder difficulties. But when you get used to it, it is really fun. Most songs have really pretty visual that appears if you do well enough, and some even have parts of the 3D MVs play in it (better to watch them on Youtube).
Music is great, and has good variety as well. If you don't like the happy pop music of IDOLiSH7, you may prefer the groups TRIGGER's or ZOOL's songs more which tend to be more mature, electronic, or hip hop sounding songs, or Re:Vale that seems to be a mix, but i7's group has also been more mix in genres lately, so I think there's something for everyone really.
Biggest con is cost of gacha. You can earn some free, though.
I love the "Otome Portal" feature. I think it would be nice though, if the app asked us if we want to enable it by default after installing it. I did not know about it until much later when I looked in the settings.
This game is basically a hybrid Otome and Cooking or Restaurant Simulator. Most of the time, you will be playing the restaurant and cooking part of the game, by tapping food for your poor chef to cook, then fulfilling customer's food request, or one of the 3 guys who ocassionally come to eat. You unlock recipes over time, and also unlock bits of the Otome game story in fragments... Because of how short and later on infrequent the story bits are, and you need to grind a lot of the restaurant sim part, I would not recommend this as an OTOME story game, but as a restaurant simulator/clicker type game, it is fun. Over time, the restaurant part becomes really grindy though. Some recipes cook instantly, while higher level ingredients can take hours... And you need a LOT of ingredients to make certain things. It isn't very punishing if you cannot get those high level foods to please customers though, there is no punishment for turning down customers. There is gacha to alter your guys' looks.
I really really love the 3D graphics of this game. During gameplay, it is so cute and beautiful to see your boys animated in full 3D, fully expressive, and with many dynamic animations and poses. Also there are really good songs, though they could use more songs. If you're a fan of TRF in particular, you'll love that there are TRF songs. Also I recommend watching the movies, if you haven't, and if you're looking for a very gay cheesy comedy to laugh with. Also gameplay-wise, it could be either easier or harder for you depending on preference, but I found it easier to only have to tap anywhere on the screen, more like a drum rhythm game. Though timing can be harder than typical rhythm games because you are tapping as your boy skates through the ring in 3D from various angles, it isn't as obvious as 2D dots passing by a circle. But if you're good at these games by listening more than visual, you may find it easier.
For the rhythm mobile games, Tsukipara is my favorite in the gameplay aspect, especially when played on emulator. There is no flicking required, so it is easy to set up with emulator to keyboard hotkeys (unlike i7).
The music is also another great aspect. Unlike most other idol games out there, Tsukipro series features many different musical genres and styles, by many different producers, so there is a lot of diversity in the music instead of just idol pop. I especially love Quell and Growth's music.
Also, there is a sort of dollhouse-like thing which you can do when you are tired of playing the rhythm game, which is really cute and a good way to bond with the boys. The only bad thing I've encountered is that if you lose your device w/o creating a back up code, you're screwed and have to start over anew, which yep that happened to me and I lost all of my rare Ruis. :( But other than the fact that their backup system sucks, the game has still managed to draw me back even though I had to start over.
Another good thing I forgot to mention was that there isn't a problem with inventory space (that I have encountered) like there is in most other idol games, which severely limit how many characters you can keep. I have not been asked to clear out my idols in the many months I've been playing. So this lifts away a lot of the stress that many idol or boy-collecting games have with inventory management.
