Graphically impressive, controls surprisingly well, various modes of play, fighters play differently, what more could I ask for?
This is on the opposite spectrum from SAO: Integral Factor, which I rated poorly. If anyone thought gaming on mobile could never get any better, check out Honkai Impact 3 now!

I play a lot of mobile junk, so I'm shocked to report that this cute waifu-bait tactics game is actually great.
Compared to recent mobile games I've played recently (like The Alchemist Code), Girls' Frontline has more tactics in it than I'm used to seeing.
Ex: squad formations; unit classes composition; microing
units to minimize injuries; pulling squads out mid-mission for repairs, and then dropping in a replacement squad, etc.
Girls' Frontline's business model isn't remotely as egregious as other mobile games I play.
• Instead of waiting a long time (or paying) for your "play-energy" to refill, you can send squads to collect even more, in the form of Man-power, Ammo, Rations,
and Parts. This way you can continue battling with your other squads.
• Instead of requiring rare (or purchasable) premium currency for gachas pulls, you use those resources to gacha pull characters and equipment.
The game can be played absolutely for free, with m

The chibi characters are so cute! *Hugs*
Some of these ladies (and girls, dammit why) are thicc.
-- Sound --
Sound assets are fine. Nothing that stands out as excellent or terrible.
-- Game Play --
Just time your button presses to your attacks and also to the enemy's attack. Very simple. I'm terrible at timing, so I lose my combo far too much.
-- Story --
This is a good refresher. I've been playing far too many gacha games with unbearably boring plots about saving the country/world for "justice" (Chain Chronicle, Tales of Rays, Fate Alchemist Code).
It feels almost like I'm reading/watching a comedy/adventure. A fun read.
It's a strategy turn based game, but there's a lack of chances to use skills, and a lack of unit mobility. The game play is boring, so expect to buy a lot of「10 x Skip Tickets」(in game currency). These allow you to run a stage many times in a few seconds just to collect the job advancement materials.
I do like that you can max out character abilities pretty quickly, given you open your game daily. The dailies give you a ton of energy to dump into job material & character shard collecting. Skip Tickets are an absolute must buy for grinding materials.
A few systems in this game seems to be premium-centric, like the equipment crafting system. In the months I played, I never got any materials to craft a single equipment.
The story is garbage and drags on for too many chapters.... How long can they drag on this "hero" & "justice" speal?
I wish they shortened the unbearably long plot and put in filler episodes instead.. But I guess if you're playing this, it's not for the story..
TLDR: Got to floor 6. Very boring grind loop that gets exponentially slower with each floor. Lack of interesting combat mechanics.
-- Game Loop --
1. Kill mobs on your floor for crafting materials and repeatable quests
2. Craft equipment to get stronger. ~38 materials PER equipment. Multiply that by the number of equipment pieces you want. Here's is the grind: With each floor, enemies are way more damage spongey.
3. Enhance equipment (at least the weapon)
4. Continue story until floor boss
5. Kill floor boss
6. Advance story to the next floor
7. Repeat from Step 1
-- Combat --
Skills are obtained through gacha pulls, so you may never get a decent skill. (。>﹏<)
Choreography is uninterruptible, so you will get hit a lot.
Dash does not grant iframes.

I've been playing「Honkai Impact 3」(Global version available on both Play Store & QooApp), & it's on the opposite spectrum from SAO: IF.
It solves all the combat problems I have with SAO & plays at 2560x1440@60fps.
