Gameplay, art and sound is above average. However, I do not recommend it because the progression system is horrible.
The only effective way to progress is to gacha (300 gem per pull) and get dupes. You get 100 gem from daily quests. All dupes are converted to stones. You need 150 stones to upgrade from 3* to 4*(average to 6750 gems worth of dupes) . A stone is exchanged to a fragment of any unit regardless of rarity. You can farm fragments of some base 1,2* units but it takes extremely long time. 1,2* units have less consumption but will die more often (cost more to rebuild) and only have single target attacks. Most 3* have multi-target attacks and some are especially OP (not simply just higher stats but also high range, huge aoe, massive damage, etc..)
TL, DR: Very slow progression if you don't pay. Low rarity units are completely obsolete.
You have total control over your fleet, which opens up many strategic options.
However the game isn't polished enough and there are too many small problems for example:
- Once you link your twitter you have to press connect twitter every time you open the game.
- If you go into lockscreen/switch to other app for 1 min and come back, the game will just stop working.
- You need to do 3 separate actions just to switch position of 2 ship in different fleets
and many more little things that make the game irritating to play. They can't even do things that similar games like AL/GF has done right before
The entire game has essentially one game mode. It's quite entertaining but you get tired of doing one same thing over and over again eventually.
In PVP you play with another player against 2 AI but it takes a longgg time just to queue to find that 1 person.
Good, unique gameplay overall but a few design flaw ruined the game for me.
- 1st: A high def tank unit will take 1 damage from most attacks but also deal 1 damage with their low atk, a high atk unit alone can destroy waves of enemies with 1 aoe skill. This encourages you to grind weaker enemies mindlessly to get resources and punish you severely if you fight stronger enemies, as the repair cost is very high
- 2nd: the gacha rate is abysmally low. I got 0 4/5 star unit out of over 60 summons, some of them were hyper summons using 50 cores (takes a lot of grinding) Unlike other gacha game like girl frontline, a selected few 5 star dps units are extremely overpowered compare to all other units. With just 1 of them you can steamroll over everything, both pvp and pve, farm resources and exp easily. If you are unlucky, you are stuck farming res slowly, leveling up shitty units slowly, only to get vaporized by 1 aoe skill in pvp

3.0While I love the gameplay overall, this version is getting shafted compared to global/chinese servers (paid only gacha, more expensive skin, fewer farmable shards,...) which made JP players furious and resulted in overwhelming 1* reviews. They tried to delete/hide bad reviews and made the rating go from 3.3 to 4.7 in one day. This further upsets the players and make the publisher look shady af. I looked into this efun company and it seems like all of their game are poorly managed just like this. Global servers are pretty much dead and there hasn't been any new content as of late. I don't think this game will have longevity and advise you not to spend any money.The game itself is still pretty f2p friendly.
