Spirit Wars

This version is not even functional it requires you to download it from google play anyways. Why even have it here is my question. Do not touch with a 10 foot pole.

girls love dance | Taiwan

So, I am playing this as a f2p, haven't spent a dime.

The gameplay is alright, essentially vampire survivors but with anime waifus, and those waifus determine your skills and all have their own health bars, so if she dies she stops casting skills. You can level them up, improve stats other ways, star up your units, equip gear, yada yada yada basic idle game stuff. Regular level waves are kinda boring and monotonous, the bosses are sorta fun actually, some require actual brainpower to beat. Sometimes you do just need to level up your characters to better tank damage. You will run into some bottlenecks along the way, as with any gacha.

As for UI, it is a bit cramped a bit, but not too bad. My main issue is, as if you can claim something, but theres nothing to claim most of the time. Probably something like trying to get me to buy the premium passes, idk. Theres at least like 5 different dots trying to get me to tap, but no reward to claim. Not a deal breaker itself, slightly annoying but I can live with it. Can be a bother sometimes though. Layout takes getting used to, things aren't too hidden so you can find all the important stuff pretty easily I think.

Art wise it's pretty solid, even the weaker (imo) designs I can see appeal in. There is also a surprising amount of safe art that isn't nsfw but still high quality (they do have their nsfw illusts/scenes though) and the uncensored stuff is decent, personally not goon material for me, but it's good quality. Personally I play just to collect characters, so it does kinda scratch that itch. Characters are very lovely and nice to look at I think. Most of your good quality illustrations are gonna be from the skin shop. You buy them with a currency which is macarons. They are a little rare, and expensive in the paid shop, but you do get about like 30 of them to start out with so you can pick a few nice skins that you like.

Solid enough game, not a main for me, but I like to check on it from time to time.

Tales of Angels | English

Do not get me wrong, I like (some of) the art and in general the game is just "alright". But in all honesty gameplay is very not as enjoyable. I do dislike the main campaign being locked behind player level, a very not so fun bottleneck I've come to hate because it serves no purpose other than to delay progress (maybe to get people to spend too, I'm not entirely sure) and most of the time, your team is strong enough to beat the level in a few turns anyways.

The maidens are alright I guess, some are attractive, some are just ugly or mediocre, I have mixed feelings about them. If they suit your fancy, well, live and let live as they say. They just aren't my thing. As for actual gameplay, it is just a typical idler. Go through levels, leave game, come back later, upgrade with resources you obtained while you were away. Not a bad genre in itself, but the game itself is very transaction heavy. Which is typical for gacha games, but it very much feels like the actual substance has been ignored mostly in favor of getting people to buy mildly attractive waifus and $30 skins.

Like if I'm gonna get addicted and gamble my money on a gacha, this wouldn't be my first or even 10th choice.

Apex Girls | Japanese/English

Can't say it was an awful game, though the art and plot are generic, done dozens of times before. I like to play games for at least 30 minutes before giving my opinion but honestly, the screenshots looked better than the actual game.

Get mecha waifus, dupe them to get shards and boost their stats, afk, etc. Look, I'm not gonna trash you if you like this game, but it really isn't that great imo.

I have been playing eversoul, starseed asnia trigger, previously also mobile legends adventure, and practically every idle game under the sun. It's not low quality, but I was honestly bored and had to quit.

Just my opinion, no judgement if you enjoy it, just not my game.

I played mirage memorial global before it went EOS (end of service) so seeing it repackaged naturally gave me a wave of nostalgia

As an rpg, this game is similar to games like valkyrie connect, girls x battle (first one, not the idle rpg sequel), things like that (couldnt think of more examples lol) in the sense that characters have a grade (white/green/blue/purple/orange/etc) that you can farm resources to upgrade, and battles are autobattle with choice for auto or manually using skills. characters also have a rarity (Up to SS from gacha, EV rarity can be obtained from some events but dont know how often they occur) and also have a base star grade based on their rarity that can be upgraded with dupes, which gives a stat boost.

I've always had a soft spot for these types of gachas, so I may also be a bit biased in my review, but here is my opinion:

● Game is extremely grindy towards purple/orange grade, characters will need either multiple days or stamina replenishing items to grade up from this point, think mid/late game idle rpg levels of grind. Its not a deal breaker for myself, but you will sometimes hit a wall where you might have to grind a lot to progress. There are a lot of important things to keep track of for your characters, like soldier levels, skill level, refining, which can take a while if you are later in the game and get new characters, since they won't be useful for a while until you can upgrade them up to par with your current ones. And yeah, you will need more than just enough heroes to fill up your team, so it can definitely get extremely grindy late game. I used to play girls x battle before it went EOS, and I'm currently a regular valkyrie connect player, so I can say I'm no stranger to lots of grinding, this is more of a warning if thats not your thing.

● Graphics can be a bit odd, specifically with chibis, and with live 2D on character comments sometimes being changed/updated, but not being applied to the static character in your character list. its mostly small things like slight hair color change, or sometimes the eyes are more/less glossy, which is again, not a dealbreaker, but still something to note. The game has an "outdated" or old artstyle, which I personally have a soft spot for, but may not be everyones cup of tea.

● As far as gameplay, it's typical for your average mobile rpg. characters move by themselves and attack, and auto cast skills, with a main/action skill that can be activated manually or by auto. Moving through the main story levels gives you various resources like stones to upgrade your characters, allowing you to progress further and do better in events, arena, etc. if you are able to complete levels without characters dying, you get a 3 star/s rank, getting enough stars in a chapter awards you with premium currency for the character gacha. Characters have various strengths and weaknesses, its good to keep multiple characters upgraded that can be swapped in/out of your team when necessary. This has to be done manually for each character as there exists no level sync feature (typical for games similar to this one) so keep this in mind. Most characters base S/SS star rarity are worth using or upgrading but its best to focus on your core team members, just don't focus solely on them, because you may need to swap them out occasionally. If you are able to get your hands on an EV rarity character from events, they are almost always worth upgrading.

● For gacha rates, they are decent enough, you aren't bombarded with rare characters but they also aren't p2w levels of rare. When it comes to star level, most function well enough at their base. For 4 star, getting duplicates can be rare, but they do the job even at base rarity. S rarity are easy enough to get from gacha, you will most likely be duping them a decent amount towards mid game, so they will benefit the most from the star system as they are the easiest of S/SS/EV rarity to dupe. A rank characters can typically suffice if you do not have a higher rarity character that fits their role, but can be easily replaced, eg: if you're using an A rank for your tank, but pull a higher rarity from gacha who is also a tank, you can most likely go ahead and replace her. Very few A rank are worth upgrading, but there are some cases where they can fit a niche, or can perform up to par with certain s ranks. B rank are your most common, extremely niche or worthless typically, and aren't really worth considering unless explicitly said to have any use, if you are going to upgrade any character, these will be the very last priority on your list.

● for resource generousity, it is highly dependent on the area of the game. For stamina replenishing, there are various events that can give you items for stamina refill, they are not abundant per se but not really scarce or hard to get. For upgrade material like gems, they are easy to obtain early game but quite grindy to get late/mid game. They can be quick cleared, but you will run into stamina issues. if you are planning to rush through the game, play something else. For refine material and soldier upgrading material, they aren't quite rare, but are usually used up pretty quickly depending on your level. Again, if you're looking to max every single hero you get as soon as you get them, play something else.

● This is very much a "do your dailies, log off" type of game. You will not get hours upon hours of entertainment, once you run out of stamina its either stare at pretty characters, replenish with items or premium currency, or log off. If you want a fun game that doesn't take up hours of your time, this could definitely be a contender, otherwise you should play something else. This doesn't necessarily make it a bad game let me be clear, it just has its own place and if thats not your style it isn't for you.
